Sim issue iPhone 8 Plus to iPhone 13 Pro

I recently upgraded between the 2 phones above via Vodafone. The Sim in the 8 Plus was fine. I received a new sim with my new handset, which turned out to be for another person. I rang Vodafone to query this and they said put you old sim in the 13 Pro. I did this and initially it worked then stopped - `No Service - so could not receive or make calks / texts.. Vodafone could not fix it remotely and sent me a new sim. This one does not work either, No Service in any location. .HOWEVER when I put my 8 Plus sim back in the 8 Plus Hey Presto - it works.

So what do you good people think is going on?

Best wishes

Andrew

I think your phone is broken. Make a genius bar appointment to have it checked out.

If you want to DIY troubleshoot:

Go to Settings/General/About and look at Modem Firmware. Is the entry blank? If it is you need to reinstall it by restoring the phone to factory settings, then restoring a backup. Back up the phone first, of course:

  1. How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support
  2. Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings - Apple Support - follow the instructions to restore using your computer, do not using Settings/General/Reset (which is not included in those instructions)
  3. Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup - Apple Support

If the modem firmware DOES have a value you most likely have a hardware problem. The first step is what I just posted, but after that you need to contact Apple support using the Get Support link at the top of this page.
