Stuck in “start up disk screen” after updating to Monterey

Hi everyone,

I tried to update my MacBook Air(2017 or 2018) to Monterey from High Sierra. It downloaded the update without problems, but now it’s been stuck on this screen for hours. I restarted and nothing changed.

MacBook Air (2020 or later)

Shut down and then try booting to Recovery and repairing/First Aid the startup disk, all listing for the drive if more than one entry. The boot normally and try upgrading to Monterey again I would trash the existing monterey installer and redownload it again
