can't turn on wifi, iphone 12 mini, ios 15.2.1

iphone 12 mini, ios 15.2.1

Recently I noticed that I could no longer connect to my local network.

In Settings, when I switch on wifi, it sits and spins. And also, as an added bonus, it isn't showing the 'Other Networks' list.

I do go in and out of airplane mode on the iPhone frequently; never before experienced any problem.

What should I look for?

I suggest trying the following. Try each step until, hopefully, the issue is resolved:

Restart your iPhone - Apple Support
Force restart iPhone - Apple Support
Reset your iPhone's Wi-Fi settings: Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings

also uninstall any VPN and factory reset the router
