"iCloud password: I have a number of Mac computers. Recently my iMac 9,1 would not allow me to log into my iCloud accounts. I reinstalled Mojave 10.14.6 and changed my password on iCloud.com and all other machines successfully. The iMac keeps throwing up: 'iCloud password: This action could not be completed. Try again.' That is the issue. Any suggestions are appreciated."

"iCloud password: I paired down to only 5 devices. Still a no go for logging in to my iCloud in Internet Accounts with mail app on my iMac. Seems strange because on the other devices Apple Mail works fine with iCloud logged in. It is just this iMac."

Why the Wait:
Phone calls are taking a bit to go through at the moment, due to lots of calls. With the Coronavirus Pandemic, many are at home at the moment, with much time on their hands to contact Apple. So, just stay on the line, and you will get through :)

iCloud Password:
What is the issue here? Are you unable to log into iCloud on your Mac? If so, use these forums' password, as it would be no different, given it is the same account. There is no iCloud password. There is one password that pertains to all of your Apple ID.

Thanks for the suggest. I have decided to clone the offending iMac drive minus the 'system' onto another drive that has a working copy of Mojave on it. Then will use Disk Utility and reformat the iMac drive and clone the working Mojave drive to it. The research I have done is littered with 2 hour plus Apple phone help that did not fix the issue. Going to chalk this up as one of the Mysteries of the Mac in my long experience of owning many since 1991.
Thanks I will give that a go tomorrow and let you know how it works. Forgot all about that limitation.
