Can I check a product If it is authentic by just using the serial number?

There are a lot of individuals here who sells their apple products unfortunately when you ask for proof of authenticity they’ll say that they lost their proof of purchase or receipt or it was just given as a gift.

Does apple have a way, took or application where customers can use to check authenticity of apple product?

You can use the Check Your Service and Support Coverage page to see if you get a result by entering a serial number.

You should get a result even for a device out of warranty and it should at least acknowledge:

  • Valid Purchase Date
  • Telephone Technical Support: Expired
  • Repairs and Service Coverage: Expired

If the serial number is not for an Apple product you will get this message:

We’re sorry, we’re unable to check coverage for this serial number. Please check your information and try again. For help with Apple accessories, please contact Apple Support

Duplicate serial numbers are a thing.

The All Too Common SAD Reality of Buying a used iPad/iPhone - Apple Community

There are lots of scams, including some which will disable the otherwise working device after purchase.

Pretty much any used-equipment sale from an online or auction site or marketplace is suspect, and a serial number won’t provide the assurance you seek.
