M1 + Monterey 12.2 seems to drain battery even while plugged in

I used my M1 Macbook yesterday evening plugged in (with 140W magsafe charger) and it looks like the battery was draining even while plugged in (see attached). I was running an external monitor & connected to a usb hub.

The screenshot confirms the laptop was plugged in at the same time the battery was discharging, it was under moderate use from about 9-11pm, and it seems to have discharged the battery from100% to 80% while plugged in.

Is there any fix to prevent the battery from draining while the laptop is plugged in?

When the battery status drop-down menu says "Power Source: Power Adapter", that means it shouldn't be draining the battery, right?

Attached screenshot is after about an hour or so of use with the 140W power adapter plugged in, the battery still seems to drain down to 85% after starting at a fresh 100% charge (in spite of using the power adapter as the power source. Bluetooth has been switched off.
