[iPhone Xs] Unresponsive screen/Ghost touch

Hello,

It has been a few months now that my iPhone has been acting up.... As the title mentions, it is subject to unresponsive parts of the screen (as shown in the image below) or sometimes ghost touches (typically just under the unresponsive area through the entire width of the screen). Very rarely does my screen work without problems (it does happen) and the area in question is not always the same (the height of it varies throughout the days).

My screen does not have any cracks on it and nothing out of the ordinary happened to my iPhone, it just started doing this out of the blue one day.

I have also tried many "tricks" to fix it. That is: Getting it through recovery mode, updated the software to the latest version, reset all settings, factory reset the entire phone. Despite all of this it didn't help.

I am desperate for help. If you know of anything that can fix this please let me know :)

I’ve had the same issue with the screen becoming erratic or unresponsive. At times, the screen would begin scrolling on its own (ghosting).

i changed the screen protector, but the problem persisted. I decided to remove the iPhone case and right away, the problem has disappeared. As I reflect back, the erratic performance started when I replaced the case.

it may be worth trying first before you spend more time when th this issue.

I'd suggest getting a diagnostic. Ghost touch can be any number of things, although a dropped device causing digitizer damage (with or without glass damage) is the most common. However, random failure isn't necessarily caused by being dropped. Most of these issues are fixed with a new front screen assembly.

Hi, I have also been having the same problem for a long time. It stopped happening for a few months but before that it was really bad. Now a few days ago it started happening again. I wanted to know if you have been able to fix the problem, and if you have maybe I can try it. This is how my screen is looking right now

These are almost exclusively hardware problems. There really is no repair for hardware problems that don't involve replacing the malfunctioning part or even complete replacement.
