Mac M1 display layout not saving. (MacBook Air M1 on Monterey 12.2 with LC-Power 34" Ultrawide @100hz)

The Mac M1 forgets my display layout when restarting or waking up from sleep modus. The settings are still correct (3440x1440@100hz) but the position of the app Windows is reset to the MacBook Air´s build in monitor. Sometimes it works but mostly not. Already had the issue with all the former Operating systems since start 2020 for the M1.

Flash4u2,

When you right click on an app in the Dock and hover over Options, do you see the option to assign an app to a desktop? Is it set to ‘This Desktop’? If not, can you choose that and then test the situation?

Another thing we’d like to have you test is the situation safe mode, to see if something might be causing those windows to regather. How to use safe mode on your Mac

Thank you.

Salutations Flash4u2,

We understand that when restarting your Mac or waking it from sleep all apps appear on your Mac’s built-in monitor instead of where you left them.

Upon wake/restart, is your external monitor detected? Is it showing the way you left it as mirrored or extended despite not having the windows on it?

Thank you.

hello

sorry it took so long.

yes it does happen in safe mode also. just now I am in safe mode and it happened.

I believe maybe it has something to do with messages for Notification Center that appear while OSX is in in sleep mode. I have now deactivated these messages from appearing while in sleep mode.

i will let you know if this works or not shortly. if you have any more suggestions

please let me know.

regards
