Support for BarcodeDetector

I read in MDN about a cool new feature called BarcodeDetector

Currently, it's not supported in ios mobile and I don't see any information about if and when it will be supported.

Did anyone hear anything about it and can share it?

iOS no longer scans barcodes? I'm talking _Barcodes_, not QR codes. I don't use the feature often, but I know it used to work, and right from the camera app, too. Seems like maybe iOS 16 did away with it, but possibly earlier? A web search inevitably finds support for the QR code, but nothing for the ubiquitous plain old barcode. What happened with that, anyone know? TIA! iPhone 14ProMax, iOS 16.5.1

iPadOS 17.4: AVCaptureMetadataOutput delegate not called After my iPad 6 upgrades from iOS 17.3 to 17.4, the AVCaptureMetadataOutput delegate is not called anymore. I find there is the same problem in a stackoverflow post: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/78128010/ipados-17-4-avcapturemetadataoutput-delegate-not-called-qrscanner An Apple webpage said the "QR code scanning" issue is fixed in iPadOS 17.4.1: If your iPad is unable to scan QR codes after updating to iPadOS 17.4 - Apple Support That's true, I confirm that on my iPad 6. But, unfortunately, iPadOS 17.4.1 does fix ONLY QR code scanning! It doesn't fix barcode scanning, like Code 39😭 Please Apple fix the barcode scanning issue, too.

IOS native QR code scanning If I use iOS scan feature (see bottom right icon in pic below) in IOS 15 and it takes me to a web page then if I toggle to another app from that web page I lose the page which the QR code directed me to. it is extremely frustrating in lots of scenarios (eg restaurants, galleries, museums, airport lounges) given post pandemic dependence on QR codes. One work around is to use Google app and use camera icon next to search field and scan QR code with that. Does anyone know if there a fix for the IOS issue?
