Account locked frequently

This is becoming a huge pain. I'm a big Apple user; two iPhones, three iPads, an iMac, Apple TV, Apple Watch, etc. Suddenly every couple of days my account is being locked. I live and work out of my home. My Apple password is very unique and used nowhere else, nothing remotely like it. If someone is trying to hack my account AND FAILING after too many attempts, why am *I* being punished? It is a HUGE pain to go into all these devices, multiple times in some cases (the Apple Watch is a real treat because it won't always pair with the keyboard on my phone and Scribble is not going to work with my password) and then I will get cross-device notifications for DAYS that my ID is being used on a new device, which of course it isn't. Answering security questions, entering passcodes, accessing backup email accounts, just to function again for a few days. It is ridiculous. The only time I ever had trouble was when an Apple worker logged a scammer in as me, against the rules, when they called in for help and "couldn't remember what they entered for security questions." (In fairness, Apple apologized profusely for that one.) Fix this!!

If you are answering security questions to log into your Apple ID still your best bet is to enable the most current security feature two factor authentication. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204915

I’d also check for and remove any unknown devices from your account: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT205064

I have a lot of devices, but none of them are unknown to me. I loathe two-factor ID. It adds no significant security, apart from psychological, and it just adds an extra step of difficulty to the situation. I had it and opted out after a couple of weeks because of the extra hassle. The additional security is marginal and does not improve my basic complaint, which is having to re-enter my password multiple times on each of my many devices. If they can all be locked in one fell swoop, they should all be UNLOCKED the same way, with one entry. I had to enter my password FOUR TIMES this morning just in Music on this iMac and I STILL can't check for downloads. And when the iOs keyboard won't pair with a locked Apple Watch, it is a nightmare. If, say, the password includes a character like "o" (mine doesn't) you CANNOT use Scribble to easily differentiate between "o" "O" and "0". The entire process is enormously cumbersome and unnecessary.

I do appreciate your help and advice. Thanks.

That's correct, yes. Instead of entering my childhood [whatever] I was entering a passcode, sometimes sent to a phone that was not always with me. (I do not always have my work phone with me.) My point is, I am not the one mis-entering a password enough times to get my account locked. Perhaps if my log-in was something other than my email address, which is public, I would be okay, but I was told that my log-in cannot be altered. Again, thank you for your time.
