Files app-Connect to Server-Operation couldn’t be completed. Invalid argument.

Trying to use the files app to access smb server. Works perfectly fine on MacOS 12.2 using Finder>Locations>[Server_Name] - very easy.

in Files on ios 15.2.1 I can only connect as guest. I cannot sign in to access password protected folders. When input in my name and password, it says “Operation couldn’t be completed. Invalid argument.” I have tried different ways to enter my username (incl @ipadress, incl @hostname, incl only username, and i have tried with ither usernames)

i know people have asked this same question in the past but they never get an answer. Be a hero. Be the first to ever solve this problem for me and the many that have asked before me.
