My entire "Recently Added" playlist has disappeared

Hi. I have read other people's entries here about the recently added playlist and some of the responses. The situation here is not about list display or grid display, but I have nothing. Nothing but a blank window.

What is the point of iTunes offering a "Recently Added" playlist if you have to mess around to get one?

Can someone please help me here as I simply would like to see (in album display) my recently added albums?

Try hovering to the right of the word Library in the sidebar and click Edit when it appears.

Tick the checkbox next to Recently Added.

Click Done.

Well, that was the strangest thing. That check box was already ticked, but then all my recently downloaded just appeared. So, thank you very much. Not sure what happened, but it did and that's what's important. Cheers.
