what does it mean when my Apple watch chirps?

My Apple watch has started chirping with short bird noises about 2 weeks ago. What does this notification mean? Below is another conversation about the same topic. Thanks!

npmccoy,

Thanks for those details. This can be used to keep track of time.

Change the audio and notification settings on your Apple Watch - Apple Support

" Apple Watch can chime at different intervals, making it easy to track time without looking.

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Scroll down and tap Accessibility.
  3. Scroll down and tap Chimes.
  4. Turn Chimes on.
  5. Tap Schedule and set the chimes to play on the hour or every 30 or 15 minutes.
  6. Tap Sounds and change the chime to Birds or Bells.

You can also adjust these settings from your iPhone. On your iPhone, open the Apple Watch app, go to the My Watch tab, tap Accessibility, then tap Chimes"

Take care.

Hi npmccoy,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. We understand you are hearing chirping from your Apple Watch unexpectedly and we'd like to help.

Were you able to follow the steps from that post?

Change the audio and notification settings on your Apple Watch - Apple Support

"Open the Settings app.

Scroll down and tap Accessibility.

Scroll down and tap Chimes."

If it is on, you will see the option for Birds. If this is turned off and you are still hearing the sound, reach out to Apple support directly: https://getsupport.apple.com

We hope this helps.

Cheers!
