What do i if my phone number for two-factor authentication does not exist anymore? We also don't remember the number. We need to reset our apple id password, how can we do that?

We currently do not have any other apple device where we have signed in with our account. We used to have a apple device and we switched to android after wards. Now we are switching back to apple and are trying to reset our apple id password. so we cannot use any of the methods described. Thank you for the suggestion though.
Thank you for your help, I will have to wait until tomorrow to see if account recovery works since our apple device arrives tomorrow.
