is this connector compatible for use with a pc

I use a PC and an iPad Air 4th Generation and an iPhone 12 Plus. Is the USB-C to USB Adapter compatible with both?

Windows, Windows 10

The iPad Air 4th generation has a USB-C connection. It can use either a USB-C to UCB-C cable or a USB-C to UCB cable.

The iPhone 12 has a Lightning connection. It can use either a Lightning to USB-C cable or a Lightning to USB cable.

The PC may have either USB connections or USB-C connections or both.

The About the Apple USB-C to USB Adapter - Apple Support is not likely to be helpful in connecting either the iPad or the iPhone to a PC (at least in most cases). The adapter has a male USB-C connection and a female USB connection -- that is normally helpful in situations where you have a USB device such as a external drive that has a male USB connection and you need to connect it to a device that only has USB-C connections such as recent Mac computers.

If your PC only has USB connections, you need an adapter similar to https://www.amazon.com/Female-Adapter-Charger-Airpods-Samsung/dp/B079LYHNSR?th=1

Note that I have not tested that adapter. Another option would be to buy the cables I described in the first two lines above that have USB connections. For the iPhone: Lightning to USB Cable (1 m) - Apple and for the iPad Air: https://www.apple.com/shop/product/HN892ZM/A/mophie-usb-a-cable-with-usb-c-connector-1-m
