Twitter and Email Account

I accidentally signed up through Apple with Twitter, I tried to deactivate and received a message from Twitter saying the email for the account does not match the email I am using, I have to prove who I am how ever the phone connected with apple account still had my old land line so, I gave them my cell phone so I can't prove who I am! I only have one email so, how could my email be different? So, I cannot deactivate an account I don't want, can.

Hey Maura190,

It sounds like this may be related to 'Sign In with Apple'. To learn more about this, see: What is Sign in with Apple?

If that isn't what started it, then it could be the Hide My Email feature with iCloud+: What is Hide My Email?

In case it is related to Hide My Email, this explains how you can manage those email addresses: Create and manage Hide My Email addresses in Settings on iPhone

Let us know if that helps out, cheers.

Hi Maura190,

We'll do our best to assist with this. Which device(s) are you using?

If iOS, go to Settings > Passwords, (authenticate, if needed) and scroll through to see if you can locate an entry for Twitter: How to find saved passwords on your iPhone

On a Mac, you can launch System Preferences > Passwords: How to find saved passwords on your Mac

That would at least provide you with the email used or phone number used to sign up, along with any saved password.

Did you review: What is Sign in with Apple? Which would have used another email to sign up for accounts through apps.

Hoping to hear back, take care.

Thank you but, I already contacted Twitter and they told me the email and phone number attached to this account is wrong, They are done with the issue, I signed up with Twitter by mistake, it sounds like it's an Apple issue since they were the ones to sign me up with a hidden email, thats the problem. Twitter cannot help any further until I find out the email and phone number Apple used to sign me up. Pretty crazy!

Thank you again, but that 's not the issue I don't know what email Apple used to sign me up, but it's not my email or phone number used to sign me up so, I don't know the email or the phone number per Twitter, saying the info I am supplying does not match their info. I gave them the only email and phone number I use three times and am told it does not match that account so I can not deactivate!! Who's info did Apple use signing me up, because it sure was not me. I thought someone might know what to do.
