iPhoto was discontinued 6 years ago. It is no longer developed or sold. It was replaced by the more powerful (and free) Photos.app that comes with the OS. It will never be updated for a new camera.

If you want Raw support for that camera you'll need to update your OS snd migrate to another app, such as Photos, which replaced iPhoto.

Your linked article is about Big Sur, there were new cameras added for Monterey. If you want raw support for new cameras, you *have* to always update and upgrade to the newest version.

Support for the cameras is a function of MacOS. The current version of MacOS 12.2.1 doesn't not currently support the Sony a7iv. The current work around is to use a third party application to edit your photos there are a couple of good free ones out there.

Note that this is the iPhoto forum. iPhoto will *never* get any more raw updates since iPhoto can't run on the OS' that add the raw support.
