I can’t see my photos because they are “unable to upload”

I took photos on my phone today, some of them show and some are just a light gray square in my camera roll. When I click to see the info on the gray photo, it says unable to upload. When I go on my Mac & iPad the “gray” photos aren’t there and it just skips over them.

I’ve tried to upload them to my Mac and it doesn’t work. I’ve also tried freeing up space by deleting old photos/apps as well as restarting my phone multiple times. I’m afraid if I turn the iCloud option off and on again it will get rid of them forever.

Does anyone have a solution for being able to see my photos?

Hi,

yes I’ve charged my phone completely & the photos still aren’t there. Yes when I click on the info for the phone, they then bring me to an album saying “unable to upload”. The photos were taken on my iPhone and it’s weird because there’s some photos in between the missing ones as well. And when taking them on the camera app I scrolled through them and saw them but when I went to my photo app to look again they were just the gray image.

And have you tried to charge the iPhone fully? The battery seems to be nearly empty. The iPhone will not upload photos, if the battery is low.

Are the photos in an album “unable to upload”? This would mean that the photos are damaged in some way or are not compatible with iCloud Photos”. How did you take the photos? With a third party Camera app?

Hi,

Sorry to hear you are having issues with iCloud Photos.

Do you have enough space available in iCloud?

If so, when was the last successful backup? I would recommend trying to Back up Now and see if that resolves the issue with uploading those photos.

Settings > Name > iCloud+ > iCloud Backup > Back up Now.
