I am unable to login to some web sites with my version of Safari 12.1.2. My IMAC is a 12.1. Is it possible to update my browser ?

Can Firefox be installed on a IMAC 12.1 with OS Sierra Version 10.12.6.? You mention High Sierra; is that an updated Sierra and, if so, can I install that downloaded from Apple Store without complication?
1. Yes.
2. It's an upgraded OS. There's always a chance of encountering trouble during an OS upgrade.
