Can I mirror macbook pro to smart tv?

I have a 2011 MBP running High Sierra 10.13.6. Can I mirror it to an Airplay-capable Smart TV?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.13

No. The AirPlay 2 capabilities of your Smart Tv are not compatible with the Airplay capabilities of High Sierra.

At least, it did not work for me from a 2011 Mac mini with High Sierra. The Tv simply does not show up in the Airplay menu. The Apple TV connected to it does.

The only other option would be to connect directly with an HDMI cable.
