Change Finder keyboard shortcut? Cmd+D no longer duplicates files in Finder.

For years I have been using Cmd+D for quickly duplicating files in Finder. Much faster than using mouse or trackpad. After updating to Monterey, Cmd+D now opens Desktop folder in Finder. Duplicating is now Cmd+FN+D, which is considerably more awkward. How can I change this setting back to its previous Cmd+D simplicity?

Hi Cobal,

Thank you for posting in Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you are unable to duplicate a selected file by pressing "Command-D".

According to Mac keyboard shortcuts this would be the correct keyboard shortcut to duplicate a file.

You may want to check to see if a custom keyboard shortcut is interfering with this shortcut.

Cheers!
