82% is not healthy and the symptoms you're seeing confirm that. Have the battery replaced and all will be well:

DigitalConundrum ~ Does your iPhone XS still have its original battery?
Also, what's the Maximum Capacity % here?...
Settings > Battery > Battery Health

Original battery. No issues with the battery - 82%
it restarts every 2 minutes and 45 seconds or so. It’s running on 15.1. Can’t update or back it up in those intervals. I already performed a reset.

Thanks for your reply. I took the phone to the apple store - it's not the battery. There was a long sequence of 'panic' codes in the analytics. Long story short, I bought a new iPhone.
I bought this one (10XS) in 2018. It's out of warranty, and too expensive to fix. FYI, battery at 82% still allows for peak performance according to the battery health check. The phone began to malfunction after a drop.
Thank you for your reply!
Since your phone has fallen, that's why one of its internal parts may have been damaged. The only solution if the article I sent you doesn't help you is to go to the apple center to see it and fix it for you.
