Saving photos in Pages Document

I’m quite happy with saving plain text.. I just shut down and let it auto save. My problem lies with putting photos into a Document on iPad.

Example, I took five photographs of my kitchen for a project I’m engaged in, and lined them up in order and the size I wanted them in. However, when I got to my destination and opened up the Document the photos were still editable, you could still move them about, enlarge them, shrink them and so on. I don’t want that I want them to stay where I put them and the size and placement where I put them!

My question is, how do I save a Document on my iPad so that images and the like stay put? Rather than auto saving; can I manually save a Document?

Can I suggest that you update to the latest iPadOS which is 15.3 (if you have not done this already) as updates can help resolve some problems. The following link can help you:
