Keyboard issue IPAD 2

Trying to set up an old iPad 2 for grandson to use whilst staying at our house. Had forgotten the password so did a full restore through iTunes. When it came to the setting up as a new iPad and the wi-fi password i noticed that a section of the onscreen keyboard isn't working. A,S,Z,X, Q, W as well as shift tab etc. Pretty much the extreme left of the keyboard.

I can't go to settings as the iPad is in setup mode. How do i fix this problem?

Hi kevvy63, thank you for posting in Apple Support Communities.

I note you mentioned using an iPad 2 which was released in 2011 and is no longer support by Apple security updates which you can check in the following links:

https://support.apple.com/en-au/HT201471

https://support.apple.com/en-au/HT201222

And I know you would like to use it for your grandson but because the iPad is 10+ years old and is no longer secure, can I suggest you consider replacing it with a new one for your grandson.

In addition to it no longer being secure, it is unlikely that the Internet and/or apps will work in the iPad as most apps require a later version of iPadOS.

Whilst there are different models of iPads available there are, at times, refurbished iPads available from Apple at reasonable prices and the following link shows what are available in my Country:

However, you can also contact Apple Support to resolve your issue as follows:
