wipe ipad completely to factory settings with no apple id or password

I got and Ipad from the lost and found at my hotel. I am trying to reset so I can give to my son. I cannot figure out how to reset it and log out of the icloud account. We have had it in lost and found for a year now.

You can't do that, sorry.

Unless you know the credentials (Apple ID & related password) that were used to set up that device, in order to remove the "activation lock", that iPad is useless to you.

Giulio
