iCloud contacts keep disappearing

Thank you for contributing to Apple Support Communities. We understand that your iCloud contacts are disappearing and you’ve already been in contact with Apple Support. 

We may have some suggestions that will help. 

The most common reason that contacts unexpectedly disappear is because they’re deleted on another device logged in to the same account. For example, if you have an iPhone, iPad, and a Mac that all use the same iCloud account, deleting a contact on your iPhone or iPad will also delete it on your Mac. 

You can check the devices that are logged in with your account by following these instructions:

Check your Apple ID device list to see where you're signed in - Apple Support

If all else fails, you may also be able to restore your contacts to a point before they started to disappear.

Note : if iCloud storage is exceeding the designated limit the data won't be stored .

We were more checking other devices to see if it is possible that you (or someone else with access to your devices) may have deleted a contact from anther of your devices. If this isn't an option, please tell us more about what you tried and learned when you reached out to Apple Support. It may help us narrow it down a little farther.

• Which device(s) are you using with iCloud?
• Do you notice any commonalities in the disappearing contacts? (e.g. when they were last access, added, duplicate contacts, etc.)
• What steps did you take to attempt to resolve the issue with Apple Support?

You may have more luck in finding answers by contacting Apple Support again. They'll be able to see what steps have already been taken, and possibly take a closer look at his iCloud account to see if they can determine why he is missing contacts.

It's pretty great of you to take on attempting to resolve his missing contacts for him. Do you know what steps were taken with Apple Support, or if he has tried a restore of his contacts with the process we linked earlier?
