How can I use my old iMac (early 2008, running os x el capitan 10.11.6) as a monitor/display for my MacBook Air (2019, running macOS Monterrey)?

Hi everybody,

Im trying to use my old imac as a second monitor/display and I can´t seem to do it.

I already bought a mini-DVI to HDMI dongle and tried to put "cmd+F2" & "cmd+fn+F" to doit, and its not working.

I really dont want to get rid of this amazing device, can somebody help me?

I know there is a way, for sure.

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 12.1

Not possible with a 2008 iMac nor a Mac running Monterey.
