Apple TV 4K Use With Samsung TV

I realize that downloading the common apps through a Samsung account is the best possible way to enjoy tv viewing and optimal sound with my new Samsung Neo QLED tv and Samsung sound bar/subwoofer. It has been explained to me that having Apple TV 4K is redundant. However, there are several apps available from an Apple TV device that I enjoyed on my previous 1080p tv that are not available through Samsung’s app store. In addition, I like to sign in with my Apple TV and have access to my photos and music that I purchased in iTunes. So I would like to have both the Samsung account for common apps and an Apple TV 4K.

If I buy an Apple TV 4K and connect it to my Samsung tv, will the sound quality be less compatible and not a good fit with my Samsung sound bar and subwoofer? Are there any other problems that I would run into having both systems (Samsung’s Tizen OS and Apple TV 4K)?

Hi Greg702,

I have a Samsung TV (QN90A), Samsung Soundbar (Q800A) and Apple TV 4K. I prefer to use the Apple TV 4K apps over the Samsung built in apps. The user experience of the Apple TV device is far superior. In fact, I don’t even use the Samsung built in apps at all. I don’t even use the Samsung remote. I use the Apple Siri remote for everything. It powers on & off all my devices with a single button press and it controls the soundbar’s volume. The video and audio quality is excellent.

For the best audio quality, you should connect the Apple TV 4K directly to your Soundbar, not the TV. Connect the Soundbar to the TV using the eARC HDMI ports. Also, be sure to use Ultra High Speed HDMI cables.
