How to Move Photos from iCloud to Dropbox

I want to move all of my photos now in iCloud to Dropbox, where I have tons of empty space.

I've been told this is easy, but can't find a way to make it work.

I can move the files from my Windows PC or from my MacBookAir.

My goal is to delete my photos on iCloud after they are safely stored on Dropbox.

Thanks

Hi there!

I have the same question and the recommended answer doesn't solve the issue. I have over 8,000 photos on iCloud but just over 1,000 appear in PhotosLibrary.photoslibrary. So if I use these instructions, I'm obviously not going to be capturing all of my photos when making the transfer. That's the first issue.

Second, when I try to drag and drop from iCloud to Dropbox (or to my iMac's desktop) it appears as if the photos are going to transfer—while actively dragging I can see a photo stack thumbnail and a photo count. But as soon as I drop the photos, I just get 'untitled clipping.textClipping' and no photo transfer.

Thanks!

Use iCloud Photos to store photos in iCloud - Apple Support

From the photo application of Mac if there are 8000 photos and you want 1000 photos to be selected .

If photos are in series , leave the first photo and hold the shift key click on rest of first 1000 photos to get selected .

After selecting photos use command and C keys to copy them , open finder > in the location drop box ( as already described the path ) , use command and V keys to paste them .

See the article Change Mouse & Trackpad preferences for accessibility on Mac - Apple Support

Note : prefer to copy and paste photos in very less number .
