Volume control on apple TV

as i trun on TV VOLUME goes to MAX and i cannot reduce. this has NOT happened before. seems like remote is stuck!!! and volume just goes up by itself

Please unplug your Apple TV from it's power source for 2-3 minutes and then plug in and re-test.
