ddr3 or ddr3l

Need to upgrade ram on my ageing MacBook Pro mid 2012. Should I go for ddr3 or ddr3l? Thank you

It doesn't really matter. The difference between ddr3 and ddr3l is just the voltage it requires. ddr3l (L is for low voltage) uses less power.


But both types will work fine on a supported Mac. Do note that you cannot upgrade ram after purchase on any MacBook Pro past the 2012 non-retina models.
