Split Screen

When is Apple going to let users disable split screen. I am tired of having split screen dots in the middle of the top screen. When I need to click on a browser tab top open it most of the time it opens a new split screen browser panel. You should not have to be subjected to this . It is difficult for elderly and disabled to hit the tabs exactly in one pinpoint area. The space between the 3 dots and the tabs are less than the width if a finger.

No one here knows when Apple will release, modify or discontinue any given feature(s). What you can do is suggest this feature directly to Apple by leaving a product feedback here 👉 Product Feedback - Apple

Due to the multitasking button being centrally located at the very top edge of your iPd screen, a central tap on the search bar can accidentally trigger the multitasking function. As this text is centre-justified within this input field, you are subconsciously attracted to the centre - where the touch zone for the multitasking button is located.

In many Apps that have a Search bar (such as Safari and many others), the entire URL field is a “hot zone”. Just tap anywhere in the visible field (not just the visible text). Armed with this knowledge - and admittedly a little deliberate and conscious practice - you will quickly become accustomed to a slightly different way of using your Apps - a avoiding the problem of which you and others complain. A new “habit” will emerge - and become your new sub-conscious behaviour.

Once you understand what’s going on - and understand your “learned habits” - most of your difficulties with this feature will evaporate.
