HP printer compatibility with mac OS 12

I have an old HP Photosmart C-4280 printer which has served me well for many years, including the upgrade to OS 10.15. However, it doesn't seem to work after the upgrade to OS 12 Monterey. Is there a work-around or do I just need a new printer?
