iPhone speakers not working when external mic connected

I have an external, wired microphone that I connect to the lightning port on my iPhone 11 for vlogging. When it’s connected, no audio plays through the speakers.

Speakers work when microphone isn’t connected. I’ve fiddled with the “lightning adapter” switch to no avail.

iOS is 15.3.1

Using external mic in IOS (IPad pro 2017) When connecting a USB external mic to iPad through USB port (which works perfectly fine for connecting other gadgets, namely an MPK), the ipad keeps on using the internal mic, disregarding the external. The mic is working fine and is perfectly powered while connected to the USB port . Just the iPad does not seem to acknowledge nor establish an audio input to it. Is there a way to sort this issue? I was looking mainly into using the external mic with GarageBand.

ETERNAL MICROPHONES WITH APPLE IPHONE 13 PROP MAX I have the Rode Wireless Go Mics. No matter what l do with the iPhone 13 pro max settings, this microphone simply does not work! There was a time when this worked with my iPhone 11, but now even this does not work. I have all the correct cables -TRS to TRRS - and the Apple Lightning adapter, but still nothing! Can anybody please help?

Contact the supplier. Apple don't offer any support on this subject.
