karina184,
Thanks for replying.
The device that sounded the alert was my iPhone XS. It is one of several devices (iPhones, iPads, apple watch, laptop, and desktop macs) on our Family Sharing account. The phone was in our bedroom that night (I don't always charge it there, but I do often enough). My husband's phone was also in that room, and the remaining devices were elsewhere in the house. All three people in the house were asleep at the time. (Moreover, my son does not know how to request this alert, even when he is awake.)
The email I received at 2:10 AM (MST) from email.apple.com said the following
"A sound was played on cjbgFeb2019phone.
A sound was played on cjbgFeb2019phone at 1:10 AM PST on February 12, 2022."
Since we were all asleep, I cannot conceive of what device could have instigated this alert, or, if an alert was set off by one of us when we were awake why it did not sound until 2:10 AM.
I'd obviously like to prevent this from happening again, or at the very least, have the alert not go off while I'm sleeping, without preventing other critical calls or alarms from getting through (e.g., a reverse 911 call, a tornado warning, etc.).
Is that the information you need? I've listed everything I can think of, unless you need something more specific (or private).
Thanks.
