My phone will only charge if the charger is in a certain place.

Check for fuzz or debris stuck in the Lightning socket, and carefully remove any found.

If that fails, try a different USB to Lightning cable and see if that works, and try the cable you’re using with a different iPhone and see if it works there.

Are you using a USB Lightning cable, or a Qi or Magsafe charger to charge the iPhone? What part of all that is position-sensitive?

What have you already tried? Different USB cable, different power source, different outlet, different Qi charger, different iPhone case?

If you can’t or don’t want to take the iPhone in for a look, I usually use a tine from a plastic fork, a piece of a plastic barrette, or a wooden toothpick. Something that’s a little bendy, and not metal. Gently dig it out. Fuzz or lint is usually not wedged or adhered in there.
