Tab Button??

How come we don't have a tab button onnthe keyboard? If anyone has a tip that I don't know about please let me know. It's getting quite annoying when filling out forms on this thing. You have to keep touching the next field you want to type in. They could make the return button smaller and put a small tab button to the left of the A button.

In some situations, there are "next" and "previous" buttons just above the keyboard that let you move from field to field. Haven't figured out what makes them appear (or not appear), though ...

I just sent them this:

Also how about folders in Photos on iphone and Ipad. I would love to be able to seperate my wallpapers from my family pics, etc.. One more for ya; add the tap top of screen to go back to beginning to email. Scrolling all the way back up is a nightmare. Hope you find these ideas worthy!!

Yes, agreed. I came to this forum hoping to find a work around Tab function for filing out forms. I'm new to iPad (a gift!), but no Tab, no way to search (Find) within a Safari site, and putting the apostrophe and @keys on the numbers board are minor disappointments for me so far. Seems these could be fixed with software. The @ key does appear when email addresses are expected, but not when typing in note or document software or in composing mail. Otherwise it seems great.

There is an "app" for finding text within Safari, called appropriately "Find Text." (It's not really an "app," per se, but works as a bookmark within Safari.) It works quite well, believe it or not. (Of course, there are also other browser apps that have "find text" features, as well.)

As far as TAB is concerned, I have to agree this is a wanted feature. Even the iPhone has a "Next" and "Previous" button array when filling out forms!

As does the iPad! The top border of the virtual keyboard can display three small buttons — Previous, Next, & Autofill — which do the expected things when working in forms. The example below comes from typing this reply on my iPad.

The keyboard button bar won't be there all the time, but if absent it's not because iOS and the iPad doesn't have the feature; it's because the writer of the app either forgot to or chose not to turn it on.

+I'll add the screen shot here as soon as I work out how to do that sort of thing here on the iPad. Sort of a trivial thing on the iMac but, here, not so sure .....+

Quick try, un-previewed, using MM Gallery for hosting ...

Safari already can find text.
Just type the text you want to search for, In the Google search box then scroll down to the bottom of the results to *On this Page*.

Sorry you are correct; I was thinking more about the iPhone, which does not have the "On this Page" feature.

You are correct; I didn't notice it because the forms design did not allow for it. But is indeed there, my mistake.

I still have the iPhone 3G with iOS 3.1.2, so I don't have that under my Safari. But thanks for playing!

I hear ya, but there is only one option choosable for one's iOS, and my iPad does have iOS 4. But ultimately you are correct in your request, so I free-texted a note under "Other details."

Tab Button??
