problem with launching MainStage

in the perpetual juggle of large applications to claw back memory, two years ago I removed MainStage from my MacBook (Lockdown removed the need for it, but now I do need it again!)


After upgrading macOS to 10.15.5 (the highest my 2015 machine can get), I have just installed MainStage again. I have eliminated a few incompatible plugin issues (I think they are hangovers from Garageband, which I also had to remove...), but now when I launch MainStage, the splash screen gets stuck at Initializing JamPack manager... - see screenshot.


**Can anybody help me to resolve this, please?

I use MS quite a bit but never the jam packs which I think are to do with garage band. They may be within the user library/audio/apple loops; might be as well to look there and move to another location temporarily and see if that sorts the issue.


You say you removed garage band but perhaps left some bits on the machine.

Hi there. I'm sure you have tried this, but shut down your Mac and boot it back up and try to open it again. If this doesn't work, remove the application and then download it again with a good Wifi connection.


Personally, I haven't used Main Stage but is the Mac possibly stuck on the JamPack manager? Is this a necessary feature of Main Stage or can it possibly be removed?
