notes not syncing folders and subfolders.

It seems that the MacBook, iPhone XS, and iPad all seem to sync seamlessly when building up main folders and subfolders. however when a main folder is shared in cloud with others with a different Apple ID, those folders and its contents are not seen instead the notes are filed under "notes" under iCloud tab. The same exists when working with the notes app via the web browser under my Apple ID ie the folders and its subfolders filing structure are not visible but the notes itself is jumbled up under "notes" folder.

has someone found a fix to this?

Hi SammyP_52,

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities! We understand when sharing notes with another person, folders and its content are not seen as expected. We'd like to make sure this gets addressed.

For this, we will recommend making sure all devices are updated to the latest OS and restarts of the devices. You should also make sure all devices are connected to Wi-Fi to see if that makes a difference. Then, let's get Apple involved in taking a look into this further. Please connect with Apple directly via this link, to report the issue for further investigation: Get Support

For reference:

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Update macOS on Mac

Share notes on iCloud.com

Best regards.

Thank you for your follow up. We can appreciate the importance of needing to get this figured out so you can better manage your notes between multiple people.

We agree, privacy is very important in this case. We are going to recommend working directly with Apple Support to investigate this behavior. They can take a look at things with you more personally and see if they can identify the cause and the best solution for you and your team. Please connect with Apple via this link: Get Support

Thank you for your time and understanding. Take care and stay well!

Thanks for the response. So all the devices have been updated to the latest version. We have tried today to sync folders with success however text syncs and photos in the notes however pdf docs worth 4-5pgs take more than 4hrs to sync and have still not synced across the different devices. I’m happy to share the screenshot of the docs to explain further on a secure link due to the information of patients being confidential.

the second issue we are noticing is that when accessing iCloud via web browser, our folders and subfolders of the shared mother folder are not visible. The individual notes created are rather pushed into a “notes” default folder. We are trying to use a windows computer to access the notes as this computer belongs to our billing person and she needs to see the patient progress notes that our practitioners are working on. This is a bigger issue for us at the moment. I have tried to see if iCloud on my Mac browser syncs my personal information with its subfolders on other shared docs and the same problem exists ie shared folders are not visible. Your assistance in this matter is highly appreciated
