I am trying to purchase applecare, and was told I had 60 days.

I am trying to purchase applecare, and was told I had 60 days. We tried to go in from the phone immediately after purchasing, and could not add applecare. We are just now getting to it and tried via computer, and says it has expired. Our purchase date was 12/26/21 of a new iphone due to phone not being repairable. The sales associate at Best Buy/Geek Squad said we had 60 days to purchase Applecare.

Thank you,

Kelli

This was a brand new phone? Maybe Best Buy sold you a used phone or a low cost replacement as part of the out of warranty repair scheme?

Find the serial number in Settings, General, About and enter it in https://checkcoverage.apple.com

and a see what it says.

What is the first letter of the model number, also in those settings.
