What is my AirPlay password?

The AirPlay password is whatever was set on the AirPlay receiving device.

For AirPlay-enabled smart TVs, you can go into your TV Settings, and look at or change the settings for Apple AirPlay. You may be able to see the password, if it is not obfuscated (•••••). You can set a new password. You can disable the password requirement.

Hey there, Dryerlint6039!

We appreciate you reaching out on Apple Support Communities. From our understanding, you have questions regarding the password for AirPlay. We’d be happy to take a look at this with you.

It looks like you came to us from If you're asked to enter an AirPlay password on Apple TV - Apple Support, which has some great information regarding passwords for AirPlay. If you set up AirPlay on your Apple TV to require a password, we would be unable to advise you on what that password is. However, you can go to Settings > AirPlay and HomeKit on your Apple TV to change the password there. It's important to note, that changing the password may require that any devices already connected would be prompted for the new password before being able to connect again.

Alternatively, if you are using a device verification code, that would be shown on the devices you’re connecting to at the time of setup.

Kindest regards!
