I cannot set songs for my alarm. Whichever alarm I choose or whichever song I set, when the alarm goes off it always chimes a default tone. How can I fix this.

I cannot set songs for my alarm. Whichever alarm I choose or whichever song I set, when the alarm goes off it always chimes a default tone. How can I fix this.

Welcome to Apple Support Communities! We understand your alarm isn't playing the selected sound. We're happy to assist you with this.
Let's make sure your iPhone has the latest iOS 15.3.1 update. Please be sure you have a current backup of your iPhone prior to performing this step: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
Delete the alarms on the iPhone and create a new alarm and try selecting a different song to make sure the issue isn't with specific songs: How to set and change alarms on your iPhone
Also try turning lossless off in settings > music > audio quality, as well as ensuring the download in Dolby Atmos is also turned off.
After turning this setting off, delete one of the songs and download it again, then test to see if the song plays as your alarm.
