i tried to back up my iMessage to iCloud today and it told me that messages in iCloud were not available because my iCloud and iMessages accounts are different. I get what that says, but concern is I have only ever had 1 Apple account, which both my iCloud and iMessages are both tethered to. so I do not understand what I amn getting this message.

1. Turn off Messages in iCloud in Settings > [your name] > iCloud.
2. Turn off iMessage in Settings > Messages.
3. Turn off FaceTime in Settings > FaceTime.
5. Turn on iMessage in Settings > Messages.
6. Turn on FaceTime in Settings > FaceTime
7. Wait 5 minutes.
8. Turn on Messages in iCloud in Settings > [your name] > iCloud.

Didn’t work for me. I’m not sure when the messages in iCloud was turned off but I’ve tried almost every and it still enable. I keep getting the same message “messages in iCloud is not available because iCloud and iMessage accounts are different”.
