Photoshop won't open file from finder or iPhoto

I just installed Tiger and did a software up date so I'm totally up-to-date. My problem is that when I double click on a jpg in the finder or iPhoto Photoshop launches (if it's not already open) but it won't load the file. I've gone into the Get Info window and told the JPG to open with PS but that did nothing. The same with iPhoto, I've told it to open the file for editing in PS but it just opens PS and sits there, no file opened. I seem to remember this happening with a co-workers machine when he updated to Tiger and he says I fixed it but I can't for the life of me remember how I fixed the problem.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

If you did an update install you are missing this:

"/Library/ScriptingAdditions/Adobe Unit Types"

If you still have your Previous System folder around just copy the ScriptingAdditions folder and its one file into your new root Library folder. If you disposed of it you download the "AdobeUnitTypes" file from HERE. Unzip, create the folder and put the file in it.

Or you can always reinstall Photoshop....

I have a related question, and am so new to this discussion process that I cannot find where to post my question.

I created a huge number of graphic files using Photoshop LE 2.0. Now with my new computer the Preview program opens them by default: it is now cumbersome to get to and alter my files with Photoshop.

How can I replace Preview with Photoshop LE as the default graphics application?

Thanks for any help!

Select one of you Photoshop files. Now go to the Finder's File menu and select the GetInfo item. A little window opens that has a number of entries, some have a tiny disclosure triangle which will expand the information and choices. The fifth one is Open with. If you can't see the drop down menu, click the little triangle, then choose the your Photoshop program from the drop down menu. Click the Change All... button and all your psd file will open with Photoshop.
