Top menu bar color is stuck on black–how do I change it?

I just updated + restarted my Macbook Air and for some odd reason the top menu bar has turned black when previously it wasn't. It's odd because it doesn't look like this when I'm on my desktop, nor when the tabs I'm using are minimized, but when they're in full screen the menu bar is black. I've attached photos of examples. Any idea of how I can fix this?

**** YaliSafiya,

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities! It sounds like you have an issue with the color of the menu when using Chrome and Safari on your Mac. You've done great steps so far and next, we recommend taking a look at this article with steps to follow for How to use safe mode on your Mac. This will perform checks and stop certain software from starting up automatically. Once you are in safe mode, test to see if you have the same issue.

We also suggest following these steps to Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac and create a test user to see if the issue is user specific or system wide.

Keep us posted on the results and have a great day!
