So in the find my iPhone app I can see my families devices and if there phone is charging or not and how much it charged up to. One of them has a yellow battery icon, its on the charger. The other ones battery icon is white and it’s on the charger as well. Why is one’s battery icon white and the other yellow?

Yellow is Low Power Mode enabled. You may also try on your iPhone.
To turn Low Power Mode on or off, go to Settings > Battery. You can also turn Low Power Mode on and off from Control Center. Go to Settings > Control Center > Customize Controls, then select Low Power Mode to add it to Control Center.
