AUTHORISING NEW COMPUTER

I am having problems authorising my computer. It keeps coming up "already 5 authorised" but as far as I am aware I do not have that many. I have been into my apple account and removed all the devises from the account and also deauthorised the ones that I have but it still does not work.

This is a new computer and I am trying to do it on Windows 11 and I have removed previous Itunes and downloaded the new version but still no luck. Can anyone please help. The old computer I did not deauthorise but removed took it back to manufacturers settings before donating to a local charity.

Windows, Windows 10

Try the "Deauthorize All" option. See the second screenshot below from Authorize or deauthorize your computer for iTunes Store purchases - Apple Support

See your authorized computers

To automatically sign in to your Account Information page from your computer, click here. Or follow these steps:

  1. On a Mac, open the Music app, Apple TV app, or Apple Books app. On a PC, open iTunes for Windows.
  2. Sign in with your Apple ID.
  3. In the menu bar on your Mac or PC, choose Account > View My Account.

  4. Sign in with your Apple ID.
  5. On the Account Information page, scroll to the Apple ID Summary section. You'll see the number of computers that you've authorized with your Apple ID. You can’t see the names of those computers. If you haven't authorized 2 or more computers, you won't see this section.

If the number of authorized computers listed is more than what you expect, you might not have deauthorized the computers that you no longer use, gave away, or sold. You need to deauthorize all of your computers and then authorize each one that you still use.

Devices attached to your account in the Apple ID device list are not the same as Authorizations for iTunes.

The Deauthorize All button is in a different place than the Account menu where you Authorize or Deauthorize a single computer. Did you follow each of the steps in my previous reply and get to the screen in iTunes that says "Apple ID Summary" as shown in the second screenshot in my previous reply?
