Why does my Podcast app keep costantly shutting off by itself while playing??

Have you tried deleting an episode and then redownloading it? When you redownload, make sure you are on a known good network. Then test listening to the episode again.

Another troubleshooting step would be to stream an episode using Wi-Fi and then cellular data, to see if the same issue happens.

Lastly, try listening while plugged into power and then again while listening when using the battery.

These steps will help to isolate what could be causing the app to be closing for you.

Is this happening with one particular episode or podcast?

Is this happening with downloaded content, or streaming? If streaming, does this happen while using cellular data, Wi-Fi or both?

Do you notice the app closes at the same time into the episode?

Any additional information you can provide is always helpful, including any troubleshooting already done. However, please do not include any personal info, as this is a public forum.

I have this same problem! The Apple Podcast app shuts down in every scenario, before and after the latests software update. I've tried deleting the episode & reloading it, it happens in both scenarios. I've tried deleting the show & downloading it again--it still happens. The app shuts down at any point in the podcast, a minute in or 10 minutes in, it doesn't seem to make a difference. Plugged in or on battery, it doesn't work. And yes, I'm using my Wi-Fi network, it doesn't make a difference. The app is quite useless now. PLEASE FIX IT!
