iPhone text editing
Having several issues with text editing regardless of app..... plus more!
First: Randomly the screen will freeze, not allowing me to do anything. Why?
Second: the editing function of text, particularly in Mail, is chaotic. The text on the screen jumps, uncontrolled, when trying to go back and edit previously entered lines. It does what I call Jack-in-the-box jumping which was corrected on my iPhone6 some time ago. Why is the current iOS doing the same very irritating jumping or jerking up and down when it should have been fixed long ago?
Third: The text options ribbon is filled with all kinds of functions that are worth something at some time, but, for example, becomes painful when trying to get to select "speak" which requires passing a half dozen or more useless to me options. Why can't I modify the ribbon options so as to move frequently used options closer to the beginning of the ribbon and move/hide/delete functions that I rarely or don't use?
Fourth: Is there a secret position for the phone to sit in when trying to get and maintain a Bluetooth connection. It is exceptionally hard to make Bluetooth connections with some devices, even though the 2 devices are inches apart. Why is the phone physical orientation or Bluetooth function less functional in the iPhone 12 mini?
Fifth: Why does the "Junk" option exist when it apparently doesn't do a thing. Repeated declarations of Junk from several senders gets through all of the time with no hint the Junk function works. This forces me to either just plain old delete the offending emails over and over and over, again. Or continue to use "JUNK" hoping that someday in the near future Apple will decide to add a true meaning to the word "JUNK" and automatically move the offending mail to JUNK without me having to heard the files to the JUNK folder. So, why is the word "Junk" worthless?
Sixth: Page scrolling seems to be partially implemented and occasionally won't scroll in the up or down direction when I want to read long documents in Mail or Safari. In Safari, I can "scroll up" by moving the cursor all around the top of the screen, but cannot "scroll down" at all. Apple's original scrolling function on the Mac and earlier iPhones was nice and smooth to use. The scroll could be slowed or sped up by moving the cursor incrementally away from the top or bottom of the screen. Why is the iPhone 12 mini scrolling function so frosting difficult to use,,, if at all?
Sixth: Obviously, some or all of the issues listed above are iOS related. On a personal level, I started with the iPhone 3g years ago.
Simplicity was the best part of the phone's use. I still have an iPhone 3gs that works and wish the same physical design was available, with matching iOS.
It seems as though the race to add varied functions, of which many are worthless, is the way to sell technology.....
It should be, I either get a message or phone call, take a picture or don't.
Why was the functional simplicity of Mr. Jobs abandoned?
