Fotos can open my library, but if I try to import that library into another one it asks for it to be repaired

I have a new Mac and I'm trying to consolidate several libraries since I have more space now. I have like 15 libraries in a NAS plus my current one from the previous Mac. All copied into the new Mac.

Most of the NAS libraries I was able to import into the System library of the new Mac, but the last 3 and the one coming from my old Mac I can't. It says the library has a problem and needs repair.

The weird thing is that if I just try to open the library in Photos by holding the option key when opening Photos, it works. Forcing the repair does nothing. Photos can still open the library but it wouldn't import it.

Hi

Nas drives are not compatible locations for photos libraries, and can damage them. It can also be impossible to repair them on such a device.

I suggest first copying the problem libraries to your system drive pictures folder, and try to import from there - attempting a repair in that location if necessary.

OK - not that then.

Next thing I'd try would be restarting your mac in safe mode and then trying.

Then restart normally, and try again.

Safe mode will clear temporary files and caches, and sometimes fixes odd glitches such as this.

All the libraries are on my new Mac. Also one of the failing ones didn't come from the NAS, it came from the old Mac.

Also repair works. And Photos was always able to open them, the problem is when trying the import.
